omg I just friended a BUNCH of new people from that really cool friending meme going around! which I think is a REALLY NEAT IDEA and I'm so glad it happened, I was hoping to make more friends to read/comment to this year!! so hello all my new friends! let's be buddies. ;w;

In your own space, share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life. Something that impacted on your consciousness in a way that left its mark on your soul.

uh the first Iron Man movie. tbh I am a gigantic tony stark stan & relate to him a lot/see a lot of his problems as similar to mine, save naturally the whole superhero building psuedomechas and being rich thing. his ptsd, his anxiety, his feeling out of place & not knowing who he can trust, the fact that I HC him as autistic like meeee, all sorts of things. and I vividly remember watching the first Iron Man movie, after a lifetime of comic book movies being considered bad & wastes of time, and thinking "this is gonna change everything".

and I mean, it did! it really did. not just throughout the media scene but in my life too; I actually dressed as Tony for my con wedding in June. :3 I'm going to get his arc reactor tattoo'd someday. I have his arc reactor as a cool toy I can stick to my chest for cosplay. I've cosplayed him twice already in two different forms. I've seen all the movies & read a good chunk of the comics. my house is 90% iron man.

he as a character is super important to me & it as a movie was super important to me!

(man I could've sworn I had a tony icon too, damn shame I can't get icons right now. sooooon.)

I've decided to do the snowflake_challenge! here's the first post, only a lil late =w=

Day 1
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

mmm this one's a little difficult for me. I have a complicated relationship with my writing on whole tbh, and it's hard to choose what's okay & what's not as far as my writing goes because it's basically all failed to me if it doesn't get any comments. which sucks bc people don't comment on fix anymore! it's all about the kudos. but I don't get much kudos either, womp womp.

here are three fix of mine:
nameless - this one is actually the only fic that I constantly see getting rec'd. I have a lot of people who've told me that this was their first fic or their fave or something, which is really touching & sticks with me a long time. (I mean, it's not a LOT a lot, but it's more than I'm used to def!) it was fun to write, probs one of my faves overall, so it's nice that it at least got a lil notice in the fandom. it was a gift for someone, which most of my writing seems to be, snrk.

recovery - probably one of the sweetest, saddest things I've ever written. it's kind of more of a study than anything else, a look at two people who have to pick up the pieces when there's not much left to hold, but it was really gorgeous to write and I've always loved it. I wish I'd given it more attention but I was under a time crunch and had really actually written two almost full ficlets for this person it's gifted for that just didn't work. I think it was during the accursed fucking big bang too. I think I even ended up posting one of the ficlets so they didn't go to waste, lmfao. it didn't get a lot of looks either, which, I expected since it's a lil bit niche, but I really do love this fic.

again and again and again - this fic is SO WEIRD. it was my first time writing skysolo I think? and it was just OUT OF NOWHERE perfectly flowed onto the page. it was fun and weird and quick & was actually pretty popular for one of my fics! I dug it then & I dig it now. I had a thought to write more & make it a series but idk if I can ever recapture this level of right time, right place again so. on it's own it stands.

ren, solo - fuck this fic. fuck this fic. this fic killed my writing last year. fuck it straight to hell. it's 40k stupid rockstar AU and I hate it. it controlled my life for a full month and no one read the damn thing because the tags look scarier than they actually are and it's 60 fucking years long and I'm pretty sure it's boring as fuck too. the fact it went up at the same time as over 100 other fics too didn't help. the one goddamn fully written longfic I ever post and it dies. I hate it. I hate this fic. I'm not even going to list the tags or anything because I just cannot be arsed to give this fic more than a flaming burial. don't read it, don't look at it, just point at it with me and boo.
I want to delete it but tbqh I don't want to remove it from the bang folders or let my partner's efforts go to waste so it just gets to languish uselessly on my stupid ao3 forevermore.

-2 skeins Lion's Brand "Wool-Ease" super bulky in "granite" - I know it's supposed to be bulky, but when she picked her own yarn out she got the wrong size & I didn't think to check it before we left. tbh it's not a bad thing so far? it's knitting up pretty well, I'm just worried it's going to end up being kind of too hard to fold as a turtleneck? since it's the beginning of the sweater. we'll just have to see, haha.
